  • The currency of the location
  • The mode of transportation
  • The accomodation
  • The food and drinks
  • The tourist attractions
  • The history of the location
  • The politics of the location

Doing a research on the above will help you to be prepared for the journey and also help you to know what to expect when you arrive at your destination. It also helps keep you out of trouble with the law and prepare you on how to interact with the local populace. An ignorance of the law for example can put one add odd with authorities.
